BACKGROUND:
The
New Castle County Economic Development Council is a partnership
between the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce and New Castle
County government. This groundbreaking initiative includes business,
county, municipal, state and chamber representatives.
As
its core mission, the Council will foster responsible economic
development and sustainable business growth in the New Castle
County, Delaware. The Council supports and promotes initiatives
to improve quality of life. In addition to its role as a catalyst
for economic development, the Council serves as a select forum
for the discussion of issues facing the business community.
MISSION
:
To
encourage retention and expansion of employers in New Castle County
, promote the County as a location for quality employers from
outside the Sate and encourage open information exchange between
the private and public sectors in addressing opportunities for
responsible economic development of the County.
GOALS:
- Provide
current, comprehensive information on the New Castle County
to support decision making by existing and prospective firms.
- Establish
active contact with selected firms to identify expansion opportunities
and address issues to facilitate their efficient, profitable
operation in the County.
- Promote
the strengths of New Castle County as a business location
to quality firms that would benefit from having a Mid-Atlantic
region presence.
- Form
working partnerships with other business and economic development
organizations to promote and support business expansion in
New Castle County .
